PROFESSOR FEHMI JADAANE
Professor Fehmi Jadaane holds a Doctorat
d’Etat ès Lettres from the Sorbonne University in Paris. He has occupied
the positions of Professor of Arab and Islamic Thought and Philosophy in
several universities in the Arab world. His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal appointed Professor Jadaane Director of the Royal
Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS) on 15 August 2009.
Fehmi Jadaane held the position of
Visiting Professor at the University of Paris III (Sorbonne Nouvelle)
and at the Collège de France in Paris. He was also Dean of the Faculty
of Arts and Dean of Scientific Research at the University of Jordan, as
well as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the
University of Sultan Qabous in the Sultanate of Oman.
Professor Fehmi Jadaane has been a
member of the Jordan Academy of Arabic since 1999 and was a member of
the Administrative Council of the Institut du Monde Arabe (1980-84). He
was awarded the Ordre des Palmes Académiques (France), the Jerusalem
Medal for Culture, Literature and Arts (Palestine) and the Sultan bin
Ali Al Owais Award for Human and Future Studies (UAE). Professor Jadaane
has published numerous academic books and articles in Arabic, French and
English.
