Dr.
Michael Spath is a Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana
University Purdue University Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dr. Spath
specializes in Comparative Religion, focusing particularly on
Islam and Muslim-Christian Dialogue, and was a 1998-1999
Fulbright and National Education Security Program Scholar
affiliated to the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies
(RIIFS) in Amman. He is a founding board member of the
newly-formed Institute for the Study of Christian Zionism
in Chicago, which explores the dangerous influence of Christian
Zionism on American religion and politics; he is also the
Director of the Middle East Peace Education Project, that builds
bridges between Christians in Palestine and Israel with those in
the West. Dr. Spath is a popular lecturer and teacher
nationally and internationally, speaking on issues of
comparative spirituality, religion and politics in the Middle
East, Christians in the Holy Land, and religion and violence.
